Formula Student was established in 1981 in the USA. It is now Europe’s most established educational engineering competition and uses motorsport to inspire students.

Formula Student is the perfect opportunity for students to demonstrate their engineering knowledge, by combining their academic knowledge and practical engineering with business planning and project management.

All students taking part get a chance to demonstrate their technical analysis, engineering design, and manufacturing skills whilst having to meet a strict deadline and deliver a complex and integrated product in the demanding environment of a motorsport competition.

Backed by industry and high-profile engineers, the competition aims to develop enterprising and innovative young engineers and encourage more young people to take up a career in engineering, by having more than 600 student teams just in Europe taking part in its competitions.
